As the globe keeps spinning, so do our minds. Nowadays, faster than ever! It seems so easy to sit down for a bit and burn thousands of seconds while staring at the screen. I remember an uncle telling me to stop playing “Nientiendo”, a Spanish language play on words for Nintendo implying that playing it for prolonged periods of time makes you a person with a lack of understanding. I wonder what he would say about TikTok, or Facebook Reels... As the market keeps moving, it is very important that we learn to move with it, and why not? Make It Move! In this article, I want to incite your creativity and desire to move faster than your competitors. Why? Because it will give you an edge in the marketplace your business operates in. So, how can you achieve this? Let us dive in!
1-Be Like Water.
Yes, I am quoting Bruce Lee! Although a martial artist, he understood the principle of being flexible and ready to strike. The fact is, that marketing is very similar to war tactics and martial arts. The importance to adapting to the ever-changing environment is a matter of more than survival, it is a matter of getting to the top and staying at the top of the food chain.
2-Be Fearless.
Famous Author, Jack Canfield said “Everything you want is on the other side of fear”. Let us remember who we are for once, business hunters. We are not gatherers! That’s for the 9-5 people, nothing wrong with being a gatherer. However, if you are in business and are too afraid to hunt, you might as well go get a 9-5 job somewhere with a nap lounge and unlimited lattes.
3-Be Awesome!
Britain’s Winston Churchill said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. How many of us eat, drink and sleep work, but we forget those around us, even the closest ones to us? Sure, being in business is not a task for the weak, but that should not be an excuse to neglect the most important people in our lives and the people that can use our help in one way or another. Find your God given purpose here on Earth and Be Awesome!
4-Be A Leader.
“Managers light a fire under people; leaders light a fire in people.” -Kathy Austin. What if you were to light a fire in your employees, equipment suppliers, service providers and your customers? Excitement, motivation and passion are powerful mediums to light fires in people and they can be felt across the room. The world has a vacuum of leadership and it is waiting for you to fill it. Be a leader in your industry! Be a leaders that others will follow despite the conditions surrounding them.
Well, I think I will stop here because I could keep writing forever. And it is time for me to go apply some of these principles myself. Thank you for reading and have an awesome, AWESOME WEEK!
Best,
